Meet Baloo! His favorite things are sniffy walks, cuddling and getting pets from familiar people, and treats. Baloo is a bit reserved at first, but is able to eventually warm up and is looking for a patient family who can give an adopted dog some time to decompress in the new home. Baloo loves to play and is full of energy, and would make a great companion for a hiker, runner, or just an admirer of the great outdoors. Baloo prefers the company of human friends to canine friends and wants to be your only dog, but would enjoy having dog friends to go on walks with. He has lived with cats before, but only briefly interacted with them, and we think he would live with a dog-savvy cat with complete separation to start!
Baloos first few weeks at home should be calm and predictable, with a small social circle and plenty of space to decompress. Hes looking for adopters who can read his body language, respect his need for space, and use positive reinforcement to help him build confidence.
If you think Baloo could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
Meet Huey! Huey is an eager learner who has been through several transitions in his short life. We`ve learned a lot about him and skills he is currently working on with our team, so he is looking for a patient owner to help them master manners, polite greetings, leash skills, and puppy basicstraining together will be a fun and rewarding journey!
His favorite things are training or sniffy walks, people, learning new things, and once he`s had time to get his zoomies out, some calm settling time with people. Huey is a happy, bouncy, and super wiggly pup, looking for a family to bring endless joy! Huey loves to play and is full of energy, and would make a great companion for a hiker, runner, or just an admirer of the great outdoors. Huey has enjoyed interacting with other dogs here at the shelter, but is still learning how to do so! We think they might do well with a canine sibling that likes to romp and play as much as they do, with management around their introduction.
If you think Huey could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.

Milo is a sweet, sensitive boy who loves playing with toys, hanging out with his people, taking social walks with some of his dog friends at the shelter, and enjoying enrichment treats. We think Milo may do well with a canine sibling that is a good match after proper introductions are made.
Milo has been through a few transitions recently and may need a gentle start, but once he feels secure he`ll reward you with endless love and loyalty!

Bologna is a fun, energetic pup who ready to find a home of his own! He came to us from a southern shelter so we don’t know much about his history, but he has been playful and snuggly since coming to us. Bologna is still working on all his puppy manners like potty trainig and walking nicely on a leash, so he is looking for a family who is excited about helping him learn how to be the best boy! He could likely do okay with a patient dog friend and kids who don’t mind a rambunctious playmate.
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Bologna. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Blueberry is a young, active dog with a love for toys, play and being around his people. Unfortunately, Blueberry was diagnosed with a suspected torn CCL (like an ACL in humans!) and may need surgery. This surgery is pretty major, and recovery in a shelter setting is less than ideal. Our hope is to get him into an adoptive home so he can receive follow up care with an orthopedic surgeon and have a comfortable spot to land.
Blueberry would need 8 weeks of careful recovery following surgery, so we are looking for an adopter with a quiet home who can commit to helping Blueberry recover and providing a predictable routine. Blueberry also has penchant for the finer things in life – counter surfing, chewing, and going on unsupervised neighborhood strolls, so we are prepared to support an adopter with guidance for keeping Blueberry safe and providing extra enrichment activities to keep his brain satisfied. He is going to require short leash walks, and would need to be carefully managed around other dogs in the home, at least to start – he is playful by nature and can become quite frustrated when seeing other dogs he can’t play with, and we want to make sure he won’t re-injure his leg!
If you love working on brain games with dogs, have a fondness for land seals, and are up for helping Blueberry get through a tough injury – come meet him today! We promise you’ll be rewarded with a lot of goofy play, the biggest smiles, and a whole lotta love.
*MSPCA will cover the initial cost of surgery, however, we do expect that Blueberry will need additional medical support down the road, so an adopter should be prepared to financially support his medical needs in the future*
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Blueberry. We have open adoption hours 7 days a week from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

Meet Boston! His favorite things are sniffy walks, his people, and treats. Boston is a bit reserved at first, but warms up quickly and is looking for a patient family who can give an adopted dog some time to decompress in the new home. Boston enjoys a good walk like any dog, but definitely likes to settle in at the end of the day. Boston has enjoyed spending time around other mellow dogs at the shelter, so we think they may do well with a canine sibling that is comfortable with a more calm friend.
Boston may start off a little cautious, but give them time and a cozy spot to settle in, and youll see their sweet and loving personality shine!
If you think Boston could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.

Bravo would prefer to be the only dog, but could possibly live with cats and older kids who can participate in his care.

Cady is a smart, shy, sweet girl who loves long walks with her favorite people! She is very food-motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement training. Cady will do best in a low-traffic, quieter home environment without children.
Cady often starts off a little cautious, but give her time and a cozy spot to settle in and youll see her sweet and loving personality shine!

This guy is ready to go! Help Diego go into his forever home! We do not know a lot about Diego’s history, so he is looking for a patient adopter who can take the time to get to know him! Diego is super silly and playful and would love to live with a playful dog friend. He could also potentially live with a cat, or children who can participate in his training.

Meet Parker! This 5 year old pup loves sniffy walks with his favorite people, but also enjoys settling in at the end of the day with a friend on the couch. Parker can find meeting new people, changes to the environment, and people or dogs walking by the house to be a bit scary! He is looking for a quiet, low traffic home with someone to help him build his confidence and expand his world at his pace.
He does have some medical needs related to chronic skin concerns and allergies, so he is looking for an adopter with a solid vet relationship.
Parker could potentially go home with a well matched dog friend, or a dog-savvy cat companion, with full separation to start and a slow introduction.

Panther would thrive with adopters who are happy to let him warm up at his own pace. He’s looking for a quieter home where he can feel safe and supported as he continues to build confidence.
This handsome boy has lots of energy and a zest for life! He loves to jump and show off his playful side, so he’d benefit from someone who can help him polish his manners and guide him through some of his quirky behaviors. If you’re ready to give this affectionate, high-energy sweetheart the patient and loving home he deserves, Panther might just be your new best friend. Come meet him today!

Say hey to Ronnie! This spunky pup is ready to find his new home. While he can be slow to warm up to new friends – once you’re his buddy he loves to show off his silly, bouncy self! Ronnie loves to go on nice sniffy walks then cuddle up on the couch afterwards.
Since Ronnie is still a young pup – he still needs to learn all the basics! Ronnie would do best in a home where his new family can help him learn all the skills he will need to navigate the world.
Ronnie may be able to go to a home with another resident dog, as long as it is a good match! He would do best with complete separation to start and a slow introduction between him and the resident dog. An on campus meet is required for this match. Ronnie had no history of living with a cat in his previous home, but could do well with a dog-savvy cat with complete separation and a slow introduction to start.
As a note, Ronnie may not be able to go home the same day. This little guy needs a little bit more help than most dogs do in the home, so we want to make sure his new family is prepared before he goes to his new home!
Stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to meet Ronnie. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

Nala would love an active home with an adopter who was excited to help her learn manners and bring out the polite lady we all know she has inside. Nala would prefer to be the only dog in the home so she can soak up all of your love and attention!
Meet the beautiful Xena. Xena’s our senior lady in the shelter right now, and she’s ready to find the perfect match to enjoy her golden years! Xena was described as a snuggly velcro dog in her previous home, and once she is settled into her new environment we have no doubt she will show that side of herself again. Xena is very sensitive and is oftentimes worried in new situations. She is looking for a family that can let her get comfortable at her pace and not put any additional pressure on her. This sweet girl’s dream home is somewhere where she can lay in a big comfy bed and get snuggles from her favorite people. It may be possible that she can live with another low energy dog, but a meet on campus beforehand would be most beneficial.
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Xena. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Meet Arthur, a 3 year old Husky with a heart full of potential. We have limited history on him, but know that he was living in a bubble, meaning he was not meeting strangers or other dogs, and is very fearful as a result–Arthur can be shy and uncertain of the world around him, but with patience and a gentle approach to training, he is learning that the world is not so scary.
As Arthur has an abnormal background, he is looking for an adopter who can offer him a calm, low-traffic environment where he can continue to grow and learn. He will need someone who’s ready to teach him all the basics, such as housebreaking, walking on a leash, and general manners, using positive reinforcement training (Arthur loves snacks and is very smart, so he’s a great training buddy!). As Arthur is worried and has a lot he’s working on, he says no thank you to living with other pets for now, please!
Stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to meet Arthur. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Meet Bianca, a 4 year old poodle mix looking for a new home. Bianca came to us from a breeder, so while we don’t have a lot of information on her past, we know that Bianca does not have the same background as a typical dog—she lived predominantly outdoors, and was not going on walks or exploring new environments.
Bianca is looking for a patient adopter ready to cherish the quiet moments, and who can provide a peaceful, low-traffic environment where our furry friend can feel safe and secure. Bianca will need help learning how to live in a home, since she’s never done it before! Adopters should be ready to help her on her training journey, including learning how to walk on leash or housebreaking. If there are children in the home, they should be ready to provide Bianca with patience and space as needed to help her blossom into her best self.
Bianca could potentially go home with a mellow and confident dog ready to help show her the ropes. She has no history interacting with cats, so if there were cats in the home, she would need full separation to start and a slow introduction.
If you’re looking for a loving, sweet and sensitive companion with a gentle soul, Bianca might just be your perfect match. Come on down to learn more about her!
Stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to meet Bianca. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
This active, expressive girl is full of personality and always ready to share her thoughts! She loves getting out for walks, hopping in the car for an adventure, and settling down with a good chew after a day of fun.
She’s a “chatty” companion who isn’t shy about letting you know what’s on her mind, so she’s looking for an adopter with a sense of humor who’s ready to help her learn more polite ways to communicate. She’ll also benefit from an experienced home that understands her need for space around her favorite items and is committed to positive, thoughtful training.
While she can be excited about other dogs, she’ll need guidance and advocacy to help her navigate those interactions successfully. With structure, enrichment, and a patient, dog-savvy adopter, this lively girl will make a fun, engaging, and devoted companion.

Scooby is a playful, outdoors-loving boy who truly shines once he’s had a little time to get comfortable. New faces can take a moment, but when he warms up, he turns into a total snuggle bug! He loves being close to his people, lounging beside them with a long-lasting chew, enjoying long, cozy naps, and filling the room with joy thanks to his sweet, loving personality. And his unique bark? Always good for a laugh.
Tennis balls are Scooby’s absolute favorite thing in the world! Because they’re so special to him, he appreciates humans who understand his body language and respect his space around his treasured toys. Scooby is happy to trade items when offered, and this helps him feel safe and secure with the things he loves most.
Scooby would do best with adopters who are patient, kind, and committed to positive-reinforcement training. He’s looking for someone who’s happy to move at his pace, let him enjoy entertaining himself with his toys, and then settle in for some well-earned cuddle time. With the right people, Scooby is a truly wonderful companion ready to bring lots of love (and laughs) into your life.
*If going home with another dog, a dog meet is required on campus first

Meet Ned! His favorite things are getting treats, working on puzzle toys, kongs and busy boxes! He is a sweet and snuggly guy with his people. Ned loves to play and is full of energy, and would make a great companion for a hiker, runner, or just an admirer of the great outdoors. Ned prefers the company of human friends to canine friends but has had some positive interactions with well-matched dogs. He has met a few dogs while in our care, and we have observed that he prefers introductions to be slow and calm, like parallel walks, to give him time to get comfortable before jumping into play. He also seems to prefer dogs with a polite play style that can exist and gently play with him instead of crashing and wrestling. Ned is an eager learner and is looking for a patient adopter who is prepared to do training. He needs some help mastering polite greetings, leash skills, and puppy some basics.
If you think Ned could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.

Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Marshmallow has a pretty forward & pushy approach when interacting with other dogs, and should be the only dog in the home.
