Description:
The MSPCA is a hub for people seeking advice about having lost or found a pet, as well as a safe haven for lost and found animals. Volunteers can be a part of assisting owners and finders as well as making matches so pets can be reunited with their families.
Responsibilities:
- Entering lost and found animal reports in our shelter database
- Returning calls to owners and finders of lost pets to offer advice and assistance
- Making follow up calls to update lost and found reports
- Checking local lost and found pet web pages to try to make matches to found animals in our shelter
Qualities/Skills:
- Great communication skills
- An outgoing and friendly personality
- An empathetic and non-judgmental approach
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn shelter computer programs
Requirements:
- Attendance at orientation and on-the-job training
Time Commitment:
- Flexible during adoption center hours 8am-4pm
- A recurring weekly shift of 1.5-2 hours. Current needs are Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday.
